Hello! I'm a Yankee, and I've considered moving to Australia or NZ... Well, more of a dream.. but you know. ;)
I have a 4 year old son who is high functioning ASD (PDD-NOS). I was wondering what kind of services were available/mandated by both the federal and local governments.
I guess it's the fear of the unknown... I know what I can get in the USA... Is it "safe" to move anywhere else? =sigh=

Richard,
Iam a limey to you Americans (or 'Pom' to the Kiwis) and I have lived here for 4 years. I live in Wellington. Firstly I would highly recommend NZ as the best country in the world to live and bring up any children (AS or not). I have 4 kids and I haven't had a bad day here yet! There is also an organisation called Cloud 9 and I think their website is www.withyoueverystepoftheway.com Email Sharon there and tell her Dale recommended them. She may be able to help you. Good Luck |
