Virtual Expert Clinics (VEC) has developed AutismPro, a first-of-its-kind, subscriber-based online program that will provide immediate just-in-time therapeutic guidance to parents, educators and professional therapists providing educational intervention to young children with autism.

Given the number of children with autism around the world reaching epidemic proportions—experts in the field believe that one in every 167 children is now born with some form of autism—there is great demand for a cost-effective service delivery model.  VEC has revolutionized service delivery with a technological platform by placing comprehensive expert knowledge and logic in an Internet-based program in a way that makes it accessible to novices in the field – effectively a clinical brain in your home computer. AutismPro essentially allows users to build and manage therapeutic programs for individual children. It also provides tools to monitor each child’s progress and adapt the training as required.

Prior to its commercial launch, VEC has undertaken trials with approximately 50 families throughout Ontario Canada in collaboration with autism researchers in order to objectively measure the program’s effects. We are also trialing the program to a select group of Early Bird Subscribers throughout North America to ensure our users’ needs are being met.

To date, the software has received high-level endorsements from experts in the field, many of whom have provided content and guidance for the program. AutismPro’s simple and user-friendly interface allows users to tailor-make an intervention program to meet a child’s individual needs and to suit their own philosophies. They can also view videos, print outs lesson plans and otherwise engage with the program’s various multimedia components.
