Personal profile I hold a 4 year bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ain Shams University and I am going to complete in February 2008 a my Master’s degree in clinical psychology with the thesis presented thereby, entitled “clinical study of the dynamics of stuttering” at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. . I have a Speech and Language Pathology license from "Ain Shams University"; it is a 30 months full time studying course. I worked as a visitor lecturer in clinical psychology for one year at Ain shams University. I am still working as a speech & language pathologist, as a part time job in the clinic of Professor Doctor Nasser Kotby. I also joined the project of creating a base of deafblind specialists here in Egypt and the Middle East that started 2002 and ended 2005 under supervision from Oslo University Which was managed by Professor Egil Hunstad as a project leader. I also passed the exam presented by Oslo University after 4 years of full time work with congenitally deafblind in October 2005, which is equivalent to 10 European Credits. I am now the director of the deafblind unit here in Egypt, which is the first unit in the Middle East. I am also translating books about Deafblindness to Arabic language. The first book translated is "starting communication with deafblind children" by Inger Rodbroe and Eva-Britt Andreassen.

Thus I gained a valuable practical experience in the field Deafblindness through my work as a deafblind teacher for four years and through my administrative role as a deafblind unit director at NIDA, Cairo. This strengthened my leadership skills and motivated me to serve as a catalyst for social and educational changes. I am tremendously enjoying my experience because I have the chance to take part in different management tasks, for example organizing the 1st deafblind conference in the middle east held in Cairo December 2005, one of the most important targets that was achieved at the deafblind unit at NIDA society was establishing a proper training course that teaches other specialists from other institutes all around Egypt the “Scandinavian approach” and it's philosophies. Being the director of the unit I took part as a program coordinator and main lecturer. The training course started in January 2006 and should go on until June 2006.

I would finally like to mention some activities, which have developed my taste of competitiveness and also emphasized my communication skills. For 14 days, One of my colleagues and I participated in a study visit to Norway in the field of education the congenitally deafblind (10th June2004 – 24th June 2004). During the study visit to Norway I have visited several schools and institutions for the deafblind, the deaf and blind in Oslo, Bergen and Andebu.
